Sessions 1-3
Since it wasn’t going to be posted, I didn’t take a photo of the underpainting. In this case I just did a quick greyscale layout. You can still see some of the brush strokes in the foreground.

I started the oils by blocking in the sky and clouds. I gave it a couple days to dry before going back in to add some basic highlights and shadows.

In the next session I painted the black structure, using 3 different colors of black (blk+red, blk+blue, blk+white). I’m adding some of the basic details for the other structures and will let it dry before trying to add finer details.

I also continued to build up the lightest areas of the clouds. There are still a lot of decisions to be made on this one.
