“…so do not ask me ‘what does it mean?‘ There are no nagging questions lurking here ~ only answers hiding in plain sight.”
– D. Fedeli
“I believe that as an artist, it is not my purpose to dictate to a viewer what it is they see before them, but rather to pose a question that causes them to seek the answer within themselves. Each individual brings their own life experiences into the decision, and for each one the meaning revealed is truly unique and deeply personal.”~D. Fedeli
Size: 24″x30″ Medium: Oil on Canvas Working Title: The Dead of Night
On the Easel
10/12/09 Sketched with white Prismacolor and underpainted with Red Acrylic. Underpainted the figures and moon with white, and the windows in black.
10/12/09 Before starting, I included additional underpainting with Yellow and Blue Acrylics. It’s ready for Oils now.
10/13/09 Today I added the sky, which came from a photograph I took on my iPhone. I also did the deep green water, along with the bridge.
10/19/09 I am beginning to add details to buildings.
12/14/09 I am adding more details to the buildings and on the walls and walkways. At this point, I just need to finish the buildings and add the figures. I have done some detailing on the water, which now has a more transparent appearance.
12/20/10 I know… it’s been a year since I worked on it but…. it’s DONE!! The finishing touches included the last of the buildings and the 3 figures.
